Research on quantum state readout and feature extraction has been published in Physical Review A, a journal of the American Physical Society.

This study proposes a quantum state readout method based on overlap-based fitting of function expansions. Quantum overlaps between a target quantum state and basis functions, such as Lorentzian functions, are evaluated through quantum measurements, while the parameters of the function expansion are optimized classically.

Conventional quantum state tomography requires a rapidly increasing number of measurements as the number of qubits grows. The proposed method approximates a quantum state as a combination of predefined basis functions, enabling efficient readout of both complex and absolute values of quantum-state amplitudes.

Numerical simulations were performed to reconstruct grid-based wave functions and X-ray absorption spectra (XAS). The results demonstrate that the proposed method requires fewer measurements than conventional quantum state measurement techniques.
