Tokyo, Japan — [November 6, 2025] — Quemix Inc. (President and CEO: Yu-ichiro Matsushita; Headquarters: Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter “Quemix”), a TerraSky Group company specializing in quantum computing algorithms and software R&D, has joined the Startup Partner Program launched by Quantinuum (Headquarters: Broomfield, Colorado, USA; CEO: Rajeeb Hazra; hereinafter “Quantinuum”).

Through this partnership, Quemix will accelerate the research and development of quantum algorithms for Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computers (FTQC) and the creation of practical use cases—an area the company has pursued since its founding in 2019. Quemix and Quantinuum will also collaborate to advance the global adoption of quantum computing and promote joint marketing initiatives.

Quantinuum’s Startup Partner Program

Quantinuum’s Startup Partner Program provides selected ecosystem partners with complimentary access to its cutting-edge quantum computing hardware to foster innovation and speed up R&D. Participating startups can deepen their technical expertise with Quantinuum’s systems and work together to accelerate the commercialization of quantum technologies.

Quantinuum, in turn, leverages feedback from its partners to enhance its integrated solutions and expand the quantum ecosystem worldwide.

Quemix’s Focus on Fault-Tolerant Quantum (FTQC) Algorithms

Since its inception in 2019, Quemix has focused on developing algorithms for FTQC, positioning itself at the forefront of Japan’s quantum software research. Quantinuum’s high-fidelity ion-trap quantum computer has been instrumental in this effort.

Quemix has already utilized Quantinuum’s hardware in joint research with Asahi Kasei Corp., the University of Tokyo, and QST (announced March 11, 2025), as well as in a collaboration with Honda R&D Co., Ltd. (announced May 14, 2025).By joining this program, Quemix aims to further accelerate FTQC algorithm development and co-create practical use cases with enterprise partners.

Statement from Quantinuum

“We are delighted to welcome Quemix to Quantinuum’s Startup Partner Program,” said Shuya Kekke, CEO of Quantinuum K.K., Quantinuum’s Japanese subsidiary.“Since its inception, Quemix has been pioneering research in quantum algorithms for fault-tolerant quantum computers in Japan. We believe this partnership marks an important step toward practical implementation in the near future. By combining Quantinuum’s high-precision ion-trap quantum computer with Quemix’s algorithmic expertise, we expect significant progress toward the social implementation of quantum computing.”

About Quemix Inc.

Quemix Inc., a consolidated subsidiary of TerraSky Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hideya Sato), conducts R&D in quantum computers, quantum sensors, and materials computation. Guided by its vision, “Realizing the Future Envisioned through Quantum Technology,” Quemix’s mission is to enable breakthrough innovations for companies leading the quantum era.

Since its establishment in 2019, Quemix has specialized in developing algorithms for Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computers (FTQC). The company developed and patented the Probabilistic Imaginary-Time Evolution (PITE®) algorithm, which has been mathematically proven to achieve quantum speedup in quantum chemistry calculations. As Japan’s pioneer in FTQC algorithms, Quemix aims to bring practical quantum computing applications to materials computation and simulation by 2028.
